Bonjour- if you would like a copy of the field trip form, please come by tomorrow and pick one up.

Note: You do not need your parents to sign the form (as the 'field trip' is at the school) you only need to get your block D teacher to sign, as you will be gone all afternoon on Tuesday. Teachers know this is happening, but please get them to sign it anyway.

Festival du Bois, field trip

All of the orders that were e-mailed to me/ordered in class went through. If you did not order, don't worry, you have been given a 'classic crepe' made with butter and sugar, yum!

Please get your D block teacher to sign the form
Field trip is Feb 25, all afternoon, in the cafeteria.

Les sports d'hiver

P.E.I

Aspect #1 : The Beatles
Aspect #2 : The Rolling Stones
Aspect #3 : Elton John
Aspect #4 : Mumford and Sons
Aspect #5 : Amy Winehouse

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Independent Study Project
- pick a general topic (each something different)
- every 3 weeks they present on their topic (= 5 presentations total)
- mostly oral production with question/answer periods after each presentation
- can take any format (prezi, ppt, video, etc.)
- students need to look at the cultural and historical significance of their subject matter and explain WHY it is significant to la Francophonie.

Expectations:
- 5 presentations, each on a particular aspect or example of the overall topic chosen
- The last CRJ entry for the year will be “which one was THE most significant to la Francophonie” and why?
- Each presentation must demonstrate a deep understanding of one example of their topic (i.e. author, monument, fashion designer, political figure/event, etc.) and how they are significant to La Francophonie. Format is student’s choice. Length should be no less than 5 minutes. Visuals are a must. Students can have prepared cue cards, but cannot read from them.

Timeline:
5 Cycles of 3 weeks each.
Week 1: Research on this week’s aspect/example
Week 2: Refine research and understanding, ask questions, synthesize information
Week 3: Format the information into a presentation for the class. (visuals)

Pronouns

I was going to post a worksheet to do, but I think that a lot of you need a re-explanation which would be better done in class. We'll go over some more examples in class tomorrow (focusing on passé composé and where to place the pronoun in the sentence, like some of you asked in the ticket out the door.)

Instead, please try this battleship-style game, it deals with direct objects in the present.

apowell@deltasd.bc.ca

Devoirs:
pt.1) Write a 7 sentence story about your weekend with a celebrity of your choice (in the past tense) using at least 5 pronominal verbs. I will collect these next class.

Je me
Tu te
Il se
Nous nous
Vous vous
Ils se

*Remember to use être with pronominal verbs, and add agreements for gender and number (eg. Je me suis levée)
*Remember that pronominal verbs = reflexive verbs: this means that when you say "je me suis dis" it means "I told myself"

pt.2) Choose one event in your story (that must include a pronominal verb) and draw a picture of it (like a one box comic with the words included.) Post this to Edmodo.

pt.3) Please fill out the Billet de Sortie for today:
